Crimson Duo

The Crimson Duo (Audrey Sproule and Alvin Tran, violins) is an exciting offshoot ensemble of the Crimson String Quartet, an innovative Canadian group formed in 2010. Never afraid of breaking boundaries, the Crimson Duo enjoys performing music of all genres, from classical, to celtic, to rock and roll. During their regular season, Alvin and Audrey are active freelance musicians in their respective cities of Paris and Vancouver, where they regularly collaborate with top musicians from around the world. Each year, they join forces to share their love of chamber music together with the audiences of Saskatchewan and Alberta. In August 2016, the Crimson Duo performed fourteen concerts in seven Western Canadian communities as part of their Traditions tour. Expect a concert experience unlike any other as the Crimson Duo takes audiences on a journey through the history of music for two violins, with a couple of surprises along the way!
